Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins
Since 1979, Canadian Maple Leaf gold coins have been the pride of Ottawa’s Royal Canadian Mint. These are the world’s first 24 Karat gold coins made available to the global market, and are still one of most popular gold bullion coins among investors and collectors alike. Canadian Maple Leaf gold coins are minted exclusively from gold mined within the confines of Canadian borders, and is offered in a variety of sizes of 1/20 oz, 1/10 oz, ¼ oz, ½ oz, and 1-ounce denominations. The coin’s obverse side was designed by Walter Ott, and features one of Canada’s most recognized symbols, a maple leaf. The reverse side of the coin is a profile of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and was designed by Arnold Machin.
Canadian Maple Leaf gold coins are considered to be prized collectors pieces, as well as sound investments, as their purity assures their value, and their exquisite design and beauty lends them added benefit to investors, who prefer the security of taking physical possession of their gold. Physical possession of at least part of a gold investment is widely practiced among most seasoned investors, as a safety precaution against another run on our nation’s banks, or some other unforeseen emergency. Canadian Maple Leaf gold coins are also considered to be and excellent diversification tool, especially for those who have initially invested in gold through ETF’s, or Exchange Traded Funds. ETF’s are still considered by many to be speculative investments, as no physical gold ever reaches the hands of an investor.
